Gill or Rahul are sure to get the responsibility of opening.

In the absence of Shubman Gill, it is almost certain that wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan will get a chance in the playing eleven. Ishaan can be seen opening with captain Rohit Sharma in place of Shubman Gill in the first and second matches. However, the team also has another opening option in the form of KL Rahul. Both Rahul and Ishaan are batsmen who are capable of batting both in the opening and middle order.
